Improvers Course

Our Improvers Programme is designed to support those who have some running experience and would like to continue on their journey alongside other like-minded ladies.

COURSE STRUCTURE

Our 6-week Improvers programme is ideal for ladies who can run 5K but would like a structured programme to follow.  Perhaps you've hit a plateau with your running, or want to work on your pace, distance or technique. It may simply be that you want to meet some new running friends - is this sounds like you, our Improvers Programme could be just what you're looking for!

 

Each week we will focus on a skill and aim to improve your technique and confidence in this area. This could be anything from hills to pacing to speed work. We introduce you to different training methods and cross-training and teach you best practice to avoid injury longer term.  

 

The programme is led by a qualified run-coach who is there to support you every step of the way.  You will have one leader-led session each week as well as two additional activities to complete in your own time.  One of these can be done at our club sessions if you wish.

THE COMMUNITY

We see Athena as more of a community than a club and love the support our members give each other.  As part of the Improvers Programme you will have a private WhatsApp group with the other ladies on your programme so you can support each other. You’ll also be able to access to our members-only Facebook page where you’ll have the support of many Athena ladies who have graduated through this programme themselves.  

 

All Athena members have access to a library of online strength and stretching classes.
